VENTILATION

Welcome to my blog/podium. If you are just visiting for the first time, be assured that this isnt just a page about motre politics, it's just that lately i've been having to vent and

Here it comes again, time to vent my frustration at all that is Bush...

THE WAR ON TERRORISM IS LIKE THE WAR ON DRUGS, IT'S NOT GOING TO STOP UNTIL THE PEOPLE DECIDE THEY DONT WANT TO DO IT ANY LONGER.

How many ways can you prove yourself incompetent and still be praised and respected by the very people you lie and display that incompetence to? Wake The Fuck UP! Actually these people are awake, they just turn a blind eye, eh? I mean really, I live in Texas, "Bush Country" and have discussions with Republicans back and forth throughout the week, but alot of the ones I speak with are pretty un-informed about the issues and simply support Bush because their family does or merely the fact that they are under that umbrella of his core constituents ( i.e. w.a.s.p.).
Bush does not care about the environment (mercury levels are at their highest now), and does not care about the truth. He has turned his campaign into a religous rally. Every issue he presents is aimed at making you beleive that this is what God would have. This is why you should follow him because he does what is the "Christian" thing to do. Which I believe is b.s. No one has God's cell number. AndI just read that he recently had a meeting with Musharraf, (the anti-democratic general who siezed power 5 years ago in Pakistan and now is the dictator) and considers him to be an ally in the war on terror, although the democracy advocates in Pakistan consider him a terrorist in his own right. Anyway, he had the meeting and discussed everything but the fact that he bullied his way to the top and failed to resign (as he promised earlier this year) as the generel of the military. It would seem obvious in so many ways both big and small that Bush is either an incompetant ignoramous or is simply in bed with these people that later on come to bite us in the ass.

The polls are constantly volleying who is on top. Although I know who i'd like to see up there,
I personally dont put much stock in these polls, regardless of who is in the lead. This is a time right now when there is so much energy, frustration and tension flying around that you can cut it with a knife and I personally am ready for a breather.

Note also that Bush has repeatedley claimed in one way or another that kerry and the liberals have"dour pessimism" ? Give me a break? I love how his administration has ingeniously made it look like people that are worried and/or question his motives and moves are pessimistic anti-americans. And then all the Flag waiving ensues and those without them are seen as neo-communist terroritsts. In the immortal words of
Talib Kweli from his new album The Beautiful Struggle ,

"..ni***s aint become American till 9/11".

And thats the way it seems.

Conspiracies and Candy..

Does it seem odd to anyone else that VH1 and BET are both showing hip-hop documentaries during the presidentail debate? As if they dont want this demopgraphic watching the debate, we should just be complacent with our rap shows.... just a question from an occasional conpiracy theorist..

I find myself looking at the world in Demo-publican vision the closer the election gets. Everyone I see I try to figure out if they're either Democrat or Republican, so I can tell who I should, or shouldnt trust (as if we can trust any of them) it's starting to give me a headache (and x-ray liar vision).

And now for the Candy..

the sweetest news i've heard all week.. ->http://www.okayplayer.com/feature

Has anybody seen this yet?

Of course many of us knew this from the start.....http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041006/ap_on_re_mi_ea/us_iraq_13

It's all over the news sites. And many people arent surprised.
Point being they're lying to our faces. If thats not grounds for impeachment, then really, what is?

1st things 1st..

Welcome! this is the first of what will be many blogs from me,a first time blogger. For starters, I am a heterosexual afro-american male, early twenty somethings, and I will either address myself as Steven or my stage name Cairo. And I live in the great ol state of Texas!Where we ride horses to school and tip cows over for fun. (JUST KIDDING). The title is journey to the top because this is the story of my journey to the top of everything, the top of myself as I establish many ideas and projects i have long since dreamt of doing , i.e. fashion design, music, and expanding my personal wellbeing ( and hopefully my pocketbook a little along the way, shiii..I cant lie).In the end, it's really about the journey we all must take to get to the top of that mountain we are forever climbing. This beautiful struggle we call life ( To borrow the title of Kweli's new album which by the way is hot ). Your welcome to join me as I share my highs ,the lows, (and those great middles!) of my life. I will use this as many others do as my pulpit, my silent listener when I need to vent, my foghorn when I need attention, and my 3 in the morning-I aint getting no ass so i'll meander along till I'm tired-journal/diary. You will find that I am the laziest mofo on the face of the earth. I've been silently thinking about doing this for about a month, but only got up off my ass to go thru the regisrtation about 2 days ago..Anyway..welcome.

..Lets see....
As you will see music is my biggest passion, and following a close second is fashion (and the way different groups and cultures of people dress themselves and the messeges their manner of dress gives off). I listen to any and all types of music (even country as being in Texas you can only resist for so long). And speaking of country i have a whole lot to say about Toby Keith and the Dixie Chicks but we'll get to that in the future. For now i'll just say that I truly respect artists(chicks) who stick by their morals and ideals because they know that is whats right and that true art is a reflection of those ideals...anyway..Like I was saying I listen to any and all types of music and believe that is reflected in the music i create . Youre probably asking what type of music I do...hmm...u guessed it!!! I rap. Thats right! The inner dream every young black male aspires too. I woulda wanted to be a ballplayer but theres enough of them around : ) So I make hip-hop music, but with a very progressive and alternative yet old school spin on it. I am actually working on something right now w/ a couple friends we hope to have out before election day as how its very much like a poetic Farenheit 911. I'll se if I can put a link up or something. well.. it's about 4 de la manana and i shopuld be getting some kind of sleep soon, so till next time.
